General tips
Titled works of art/images are in italics
Untitled image: Create a brief, descriptive title. Descriptive title is not italics or quotes, capitalize only the first word and any proper nouns.
Visuals such as charts, tables, maps or other graphic are in quotation marks.
If there is no author, then begin with the title or description of the image.
Format:
Image created for web –
Last Name/Organization. "Title" or description. Date, Site Title/Database, Publisher [if different from website], URL. Accessed Date [if no date].
Work of Art (original is in a museum collection or institution) –
Last Name. Title or Description. Year created. Gallery, Location. Format [if other than painting].
Examples:
