MLA Style Guide

General Format Rules – MLA Entire Paper

A page header in MLA should be found on the top of every page justified to the right. The page header should contain the author's last name followed by the page number. Every page should be double-spaced including the works cited page.

There is no title page for MLA. The first page should contain information such as author's name, professor's name, class and date, all justified to the left. This should be followed by the title centered.  Use our title page creator to format your first page.

Works Cited: Create the works cited page at the end of your paper on a new page. Label this page Works Cited at the top middle of the page. Do not underline, bold, enlarge or use quotes for the words Works Cited.
