General tips

  • Titled works of art: Title of image is in italics
  • Untitled image: Create a brief, descriptive title. Descriptive title is not italics or quotes, capitalize only the first word and any proper nouns.
  • Other titled web images (e.g. chart, cartoon, map): Title is in quotes, not in italics
  • Use N.p. if no publisher
  • Use n.d. if no date of publication
  • If there is no author, then begin with the title or description of the image.
